Preserving an environment of free speech

As an educational institution, Indiana University encourages discussion from a variety of different perspectives and viewpoints on all of its campuses. Members of the IU community invite speakers with a wide range of views to our campuses on a regular basis as part of our educational and research missions. IU will protect, as far as possible, the physical safety of invited speakers, their supporters and protestors without regard to their views or the identity of their sponsors.

As members of the IU community, you have the opportunity to contribute in a myriad of ways to a rich, inquiring, productive and public-spirited civil society that binds all of us together as one.
